The Practical Secrets of Meditation and Samadhi

What is life, man does not even know this. And if we do not know life, then there is no possibility of knowing death. If life itself is unknown and unidentified, then death cannot be known and known. The fact is that because we do not know life, death seems to happen. For those who know life, death is an incomprehensible word, which has never happened, never happens and never will happen.

Some words in life are absolutely false, there is no truth in those words. Death is also one of those words, which is absolutely infinite. An event like death does not occur anywhere. But we see people dying crying, death seems to be happening all around. There are graveyards everywhere. And if we understand properly, we will know that wherever we are standing, God knows how many people have died. Where we have built monuments, all the places on the earth have become graveyards. Crores of people have died, are dying crying, and if I say that death is not a false word in human language, then it will be surprising.

There was a fakir in the state of meditation, Marpa. Someone went to that Fakir and asked him that I have come to ask something about life and death. Marpa was very agitated and he said, if you want to ask about life, then do ask, because I know life. As for death, I have not met death till now, I do not know it. If you want to ask about death, then ask those who are already dead or have died. I am life, I speak and tell about life. I have no acquaintance with death. It is the same thing, you must have heard that once the ghost had prayed to God that

this thief of yours is after me very badly. I am very tired. He follows me from morning to evening and with great difficulty lets me go. What is my fault? What is his enmity? Why does this thief keep running after me day and night to tease me? And I am not able to take rest from the day's work that again in the morning the thief comes and stands at the door. Then fall! Then be saved! This has been going on since eternity. Now my sister's limit has come and I pray that you make this person understand.

Let us hear that God called the person and said that why are you after the blind man? What is the matter with the blind man? What is the enmity? What is the complaint?

The blind man said, blind man! It has been an eternity since I have been roaming the world but till now I have not met the blind man. I do not know the blind man. Where is the blind man? If you call him in front of me, then I will ask for forgiveness and I will recognize who he is so that I do not commit any mistake towards him.

It has been an eternity since all this happened. This is not mentioned in the file of the building. Till now he has not called the darkness in front of the fire. He will not call it. This matter is not going to be resolved. How can darkness be called in front of the fire? There is no existence of darkness, no position of darkness. There is no position of darkness, no supporting position of darkness. It is the absence of light, it is an absence, it is an absence. So how can the absence of darkness be called in front of the fire?

No Darkness cannot be brought in front of distance. Distance is very big, it is difficult to bring darkness in front of even a small lamp. It is difficult for darkness to enter the circle of light of the lamp. It is difficult to confront the lamp. Where there is light, how can darkness come there! Where there is life, how can death come there! Either life does not exist, or there is no death. Both things cannot be the same. We are alive, but we do not know what life is. It is because of this ignorance that we come to know that death also occurs. Death is an ignorance. Ignorance of life itself becomes the event of death. If only! If we become aware of that light which is within, then even a ray of its introduction forever breaks this ignorance that I can die, or have ever died, or will ever die. But we do not know that light which we are, and we are afraid of that darkness which we are not. We are not aware of that light which is our life, which is our life, which is our knowledge; and we are afraid of that darkness which we are not.

Man is not death, man is Amrit. All life is Amrit. But we do not even raise our eyes towards Amrit. We do not look for life, we do not take even a single step in the direction of life. Life remains unknown and therefore we seem to be afraid of death. So the question is not about life and death, it is only about life. I have been told to speak in terms of life and death. This is an unusual thing. The question is only about life and there is no such thing as death. If life is known, then life remains. And if life is not known, then only death remains. Life and death never stand together as a problem. Either we know that we are life, then death does not exist. And or we do not know that we are life, then there is only death, not life. These two things do not exist together, they cannot exist. But we people are afraid of death. The fear of death shows that we are unfamiliar with life. Fear of death has only one meaning – unfamiliarity with life. And life is present within us every moment.
